737 800 NG | Pan Am Flight Training | Turning Autopilot Induced Stall | 5-30-15

DescriptionIn this clip you’ll see a turning stall induced by the autopilot. This is a required maneuver for the type rating. It’s setup by turning off the autothrottles and setting thrust to idle and leaving the altitude hold engaged. The autopilot then attempts to maintain altitude with pitch trim. Recovery is done by disconnecting the autopilot, checking your speed brakes are down and applying thrust – enough to recover and that is by no means full power.
